- to develop standards and ethical norms for the use of psychological tests;
- to improve the qualifications of psychologists in psychological assessment;
- to stop the spread of invalid and non-standardized methods.
International relations
VPA is an affiliate member of the International Test Commission (ITC): the association applied in November 2013 and received its membership certificate (No. A0134) in 2014. VPA has translated the main ITC guidelines on test use into Ukrainian and adapted the EFPA test review model and the EFPA standards for test user qualifications.
In 2017 VPA co-founded the National Psychological Association of Ukraine (NPA), the umbrella organization that represents Ukraine in the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA). Professor Burlachuk was the first President of NPA (2017–2020). VPA members are also members of NPA.

Governing bodies
The Conference of members is the highest governing body (at least once every three years): it adopts the Statute and elects the President, the Presidium and the Supervisory Board. The Presidium, chaired by the President, manages the association between conferences, admits members and sets membership fees. The President represents VPA. The Supervisory Board audits the association’s activities. The Test Committee is responsible for voluntary certification of test providers, training programs and test methods.
